Present

Summary of events

That sounds like a great project!
The documentation of social life in the Diviša colony on such an important anniversary certainly brings an interesting insight into the history and community in this part of Brno.
The themes of social events that appear in the documents are not only a memory of past years, but also a celebration of the cohesion of the residents and their joint efforts to develop and improve the place where they live.

First Advent in Diviška

A wonderful tradition that will hopefully warm the hearts and hands this year as well... especially for those who don't skimp on the welder!
Martina Dufková and Liba Pančochová are surely rehearsing a singing performance, during which even the notes are shaking in the cold, and the great presenter Radim Pančocha will surely be able to do it again with an overview - and maybe even with gloves!
Thanks to everyone who gives out Christmas cheer every year - and I hope someone is giving out hot tea too.

Santa fun

Santa's entertainment in Diviška is an annual mix of laughter and fear.
Children are shaking, parents are praying that it will at least turn out like in a fairy tale.
The devil has to constantly assure that he will really take someone away this year, and Mikuláš meanwhile tries to switch to "quick negotiation." Angel, the true master of bribes, has a bag of sweets in his pocket for reconciliation.

The burning of witches

The burning of witches in Diviška is a really popular and traditional celebration, and it has been gaining more and more popularity in recent years.
People remember traditions and enjoy the atmosphere with music, costumes and especially refreshments. This event becomes a great experience for all generations.

La Skala in Diviška

In short, La Skala in Diviška is an experience that transforms the Divišácký lom into a unique natural amphitheater, where classical composers and opera arias can be heard freely under the open sky.
Liba and Radim Pančoch, as the main drivers of this cultural event, oversee everything with a precision worthy of a symphony orchestra conductor.
The local community cannot thank them enough.
La Skala has become a magnet that draws people outside, into nature, teaching them to listen to the classics where the wind dances between the quarry walls and the birdsong adds its own part.
With their approach and careful organization, the Pančochs proved that culture does not have to remain behind the walls of concert halls, but that it has its rightful place under the open sky as well.
"And maybe even one or two viewers will catch themselves wondering after the concert whether the Beethoven isn't really good."

Retro ball

Retro Ball, it's like a time machine that transports you back to a time when hairstyles were bigger than TVs and fashion had more colors than the rainbow! Since 2014, the event has become a great way to celebrate the past, while also remembering that we've all come from a time when we wore shorts, slippers and socks.
Everyone who is going to the ball is welcome in any costume that corresponds to the idea of RETRO. So if you have an old disco dress, a flannel shirt or even a costume from a historical movie in your closet, don't hesitate! The crazier the better!

And if you're not sure what to wear, just look at some old photos of your parents — you're sure to find inspiration. Who doesn't want to look like an 80's rock star or a 50's elegant lady?
So, grab your retro pieces, get ready for the hits you know by heart, and come enjoy an evening full of laughter, dancing and lots of nostalgia! Who knows, you might even find a new dance partner, or at least someone who has the same sense of style as you!

Projection in the quarry "Bouquet"

Screening a movie in a rock quarry? Only those who would like the dramatic nature of the Divišácký quarry to tell the story themselves can think of that!
Imagine the fallen dusk falling on the overgrown stones, the shadows dancing restlessly along the old paths. The idea was clear: something must enter this untamed natural theater that matches its nature. No romantic comedy, no action plot - it needs a story that digs under the skin, it needs: Bouquets by Karel Jaromír Erben.
And then it started. Melancholic music drifted slowly from the speakers, its tones bouncing off the quarry wall and returning to us like the echo of ancient legends. And suddenly, as if nature itself was holding its breath. The trees leaned closer to hear better, there was something chilling about the gusts of wind. Images began to flash on the screen: forests shrouded in fog, faces twisted in despair, fate towering over them all like an invisible hand.
It almost seemed that Karel Jaromír Erben really got up from his verses that night to whisper his stories to the stones, where they remained forever written.

The people present in the quarry are barely breathing, some may not have even noticed that the cool sweat is running down their backs. Each in that silent chorus heard his own echo, as nature sent to them and those haunting poems on canvas.
It was a crazy idea, but an unforgettable one - a scene where story and nature found their common language in darkness and whispers.

Concerts

Diviška is a place where concerts run according to the lunar calendar rather than according to the program. You never know when you'll run into a new band trying to get out of the garage onto a bigger stage, or seasoned veterans who have everything going for them - except yesterday's fire system test.
Next to all of this is the Silvio pizzeria, formerly known as the pub Shanghai U Jarouska, where every concert night smelled more or less of fresh pizza.
While you're waiting for the concert to start, you can refresh yourself at Silvio's and have a pizza to get you in the mood before the first gust of wind comes off the stage.

Camps for children

The summer children's camp "Men's ride with children, mainly without mothers" led by the legendary Eda Smetana, alias "master of improvisations", was the experience of the year!
Fathers and children arrived with a full field - supplies of ketchup, three types of sausages and various snacks with a substantial supply of liquids.
With an overview, the dads managed everything, from the first warm-up to the night fight with the (unwanted) effect of the dads hidden in the bushes.
Eda reminded himself with a smile on his face throughout the stay: "What would one or the other mother say about that?"
But he immediately put the thought to rest and devoted himself to the important planning of the next day, when something really special was supposed to happen - the father decided to compete in the discipline "Cook yourself or the children".
And how did it all end? Just as we'd expect - a slightly burnt dinner, with the kids falling asleep by the fire, and Ed's happy smile that all the kids might have survived and the dads too.

Veterans

This is a wonderfully nostalgic memory of a time when, even in smaller and more modest villages such as Diviška, technical gems on bikes were a source of admiration and pride.

The history associated with such a unique item as the aerovka beautifully illustrates not only social changes, but also progress in technology and design, which are reflected in everyday life. And also the fact that these technical treasures left an indelible mark in the hearts of the local people, who today look at them with a certain nostalgia and reverence.
What means of transportation or type of vehicle comes to mind most when you think back to those "golden days"?

So it's a great event! A ball of car veterans combined with dancing as a perfect opportunity for all lovers of classic cars and nostalgic rhythms.
And the dance entertainment is a great idea - because it would be a shame to just display it. I imagine ball gowns and suits from different decades, ballroom dances from swing to rock'n'roll, and of course beautifully polished cars as decoration.
It was at a place with atmosphere, in the classic country hall "House of Enlightenment" near Antoníček in Diviška.
